Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
Therefore, a massive congratulations must go to Save Vietnam's Wildlife on the opening of their new Carnivore and Pangolin Education Centre in Ninh Binh Province's Cuc Phuong National Park.
'The ribbon has been cut! Our new Carnivore and Pangolin Education Centre is now officially open. What a great way to celebrate World Pangolin Day 2016. Over 180 guests including National Park, Forest Protection Departments, US and UK embassy, 12 local schools, NGOs and other governmental authorities attended launching ceremony and became the first guests of the centre. Happy World Pangolin Day everyone!' - SVW facebook page
In the last few years there has been a huge emphasis on connecting children with nature (particularly in the UK with this RSPB report), and what these highly enthusiastic, yet screen absorbed beings can achieve with proper environmental education. Aware of an urgent need for engaging wildlife education in Viet nam, this was the focus of the SVW in setting up their education centre. But, it does not stop with the children, all those who partake in wildlife tourism stand to gain a transformative and memorable experience and a new appreciation for conservation actions.
"The innovative and interactive atmosphere of the Education Centre will help a wide range of communities enjoy discovering and learning about these unique creatures, understand the threats they are facing and then hopefully mobilize to save these incredible species from extinction" - Ho Thi Kim Lan, Education Manager of Save Vietnam's Wildlife.
